Kisah Menarik Di Balik Album Abbey Road

Alasan Paul McCartney bertelanjang kaki.

Abbey Road remains their best-selling album. In 2020, the album is number five on Rolling Stone’s list of the greatest albums of all time

Interesting Story Behind Abbey Road Album.

Abbey Road became an iconic album because for the first time on a Beatles album, the front cover did not contain the group name or album title.

The album cover shows the four members of this band (In order from right to left are Lennon, Starr, McCartney and Harriosn) crossing the road at the zebra cross near the entrance of the studio in London, England in 1969. But who would have thought, that the simple concept of a photo taken more than half a century has become legendary. Abbey Road is the name of a small street located in the North London area.

This is the first time The Beatles have presented the world with an album cover design that doesn’t feature the band name or album title at all. Designer John Kosh even claimed that the EMI boss at the time was furious with the album cover design. However, Kosh argues that as the biggest band in the world, people don’t need to say who they are, because everyone knows who they are. Because of this album cover design, the location of Zebra Cross on Abbey Road became famous and was visited by millions of fans to take pictures at there.

The reason why Paul McCartney is barefoot.

If you pay attention, there is one unique thing about the album cover, namely that one of the personnel, Paul McCartney, does not wear shoes or goes barefoot.

Why? Because according to Designer John Kosh, that day the weather was very sunny and Paul McCartney, who lives close to the location, chose to go out for a walk around the studio wearing sandals. So, finally forced to do a photo shoot with McCartney barefoot.
