Orche Orkestra versi Leo Kristi

In the ‘90s, at the Boldi flea market, I bought a Leo Kristi cassette from the album Nyanyian Tambur Jalan. I often went to Boldi flea market, so I know how the price of cassettes can be cheaper. If in the afternoon there is a football match scheduled in Malang City, many people sell their cassette collections so they can buy tickets to watch the football match from their sales money. That's the formula.

I enjoyed every song on the album “Nyanyian Tambur Jalan”. I often played it at gatherings in the student senate room of FKIP Unisma. “Bersyukur akhirnya Bulan Separuh Bayang”, is one of the songs from the album that is included in the list of the Konser Rakyat Leo Kristi Hitam Putih Orche DVD.

Why orchestra? In a coffee shop chat with Redy Eko Prastyo, the executive producer in Malang, Leo Kristi's songs were recorded by an orchestra so that they can be played all over the world. The album was recorded in Yogyakarta with Singgih Sanjaya as music director. The Orche is the Konser Rakyat Leo Kristi’s version orchestra.

Leo Kristi recommended a number of singers and musicians to get involved, such as Berlian Hutahuruk, Trie Utami, Balawan, Dewa Bujana, Wukir Suryadi, Redy Eko Prastyo. They made the interpretations, new interpretations of Leo Kristi's songs. Interesting.

With an orchestration format, Leo Kristi's songs are present and approach listeners in all parts of the world. Expanding the appreciation landscape in spreading humanist values stored in the lyrics of Leo Kristi's song. The richness of literacy in the Indonesian archipelago.

Even though this album is titled Black and White Orche, Leo Kristi couldn’t judge that life is just black and white. His life journey is expressed in the lyrics of his songs, which are unique, vital élan, and pithy. Jreng! (abdul malik)
