Funk de Java is a soft rock group where they carry Javanese songs in rock music genre. Most of the lyrics of the songs from this music group from Malang City, East Java, are written in Javanese with the accompaniment music that is full of powerful drums along with distorting guitar sounds on almost all tracks like a rock album in general. Their songs are packed in their first album entitled “From Java To The World” which was released in November 2007.

The group which consists of Tika (Vocalist), Wulan (Drummer), Juken (Guitarist), and Tommy (Bassist) believes that Javanese lyrics will be able to be accepted in national and international music as well as music that uses Mandarin, Latin, and Western lyrics. Their desire and hope were to make people sing, and dance with Javanese songs.
