Tzigane is a musical rhapsodic composition created by the French composer Maurice Ravel (Born 1875 – Died 1937). The original instrumentation used at Tzigane was the violin and piano. The first show of the Tzigane took place in London on April 26, 1924.
Rhapsody music is a musical work that has a long duration, has no formal structure, and is full of improvisation. Rhapsody music usually consists of several varieties but integrated musical arrangements. It has a free-flowing musical structure featuring various moods. From high to low music, loud to soft, happy to sad, and presented with a very contrasting musical rhythm.
The name of Tzigane is derived from the common European term for “gypsy” (in French: gitan, tsigane or tzigane and cigány in Hungarian).
This Tzigane’s album was performed by Yoska Nemeth and Ian Boutouk, both of them are Hungarian composers and musicians.
