Biography
Ais lawalata is a singer from Maluku, in the 60s his group The Blue Diamonds and Anneke Gronloh were very popular. Ais liked the music of the two groups and took a lot of knowledge. When he was 14 years old, he was invited as a guitarist and singer in a South Maluku youth band called The Last Boys.
Ais had changed his name as Jamie Lloyd and Ais formed a band called Dean Martin’s Evergreen, with the hit song Everybody Loves Somebody Sometimes in a disco rhythm, until finally Ais Lawalata’s single ‘The Prisoner’ was born.
Ais also appeared in a program called Supreme, he collaborated with Heddy Lester and Loeki Knol, the two names were eventually replaced with Ramses Shaffy and Lisbeth List for several appearances on tour with them. Ais played bass in a group The Shaffy’s.
Ais became more famous in the Netherlands. When he collaborated with Wieteke Van Dort and joined the television program Late Late Lien Show, a television program that featured and played traditional South Maluku songs.

Ais Lawalata’s LP album Ambon Manise was produced in 1980 when Ais Lawalata was 35 years old. This album produced with the encouragement and initiative of Wieteke Van Dort and Frans Boelen who served as directors of the Palm Club record company
Story
This album is a track record of a young man from South Maluku who greatly admires the culture of his homeland. Accompanied by typical Maluku instruments and an Ambonese choir from Barneveld.

The important value of this album is that the Ambon Manise album contains songs taken from old Maluku songs. This song is sourced from the culture and traditions of Maluku in which many wise words are written.

Ais lawalata adalah penyanyi asal Maluku, tahun 60an kelompok The Blue Diamonds dan Anneke Gronloh mereka sangat populer. Ais menyukai music kedua group tersebut dan banyak mengambil ilmunya. Ketika itu usianya menginjak 14 tahun dia diajak sebagai gitaris dan sekaligus penyanyi pada band pemuda pemuda Maluku Selatan yang bernama The Last Boys.
Ais pernah berganti nama Jamie Lloyd dan Ais membentuk band dengan nama Dean Martin’s Evergreen, dengan lagu hit Everybody Loves Somebody Sometimes dalam irama disco, sampai akhirnya lahir single dari Ais Lawalata sendiri ‘The Prisoner”.
